Alpha Chip®, Aspen Chip and Beta Chip® are processed from virgin wood to create a comfortable habitat with a natural appearance that is compatible with all small animals, including transgenic breeds. These small chips bedding are heat-treated to reduce bacteria and enhance absorbency and aspirated to remove dust. With its proven track record of superior performance, the free-flowing chips are compatible with most bedding dispensers and are ideal bedding for ventilated rack systems.

Aspen Shavings and Pine Shavings contact beddings are processed from virgin wood to create a comfortable habitat with a natural appearance that is compatible with all small animals, including transgenic breeds. These high-performing light shavings create a pillowed type of bedding that is heat-treated to reduce bacteria and enhance absorbency. It is aspirated to remove dust and the shavings are compatible with most bedding dispensers and are ideal bedding for ventilated rack systems.

Corn Cob Bedding is milled from 100% Corn Cob and is available in 1/8- and 1/4-inch sizes. It is a natural, renewable and biodegradable resource that is compatible with all animals, including transgenic breeds. It is heat-treated to reduce bacteria and increase absorbency, and aspirated to remove dust. Corn Cob’s unique properties enable the bedding to absorb from the bottom-up, leaving a dry contact surface.

SoftZorb® and SoftZorb Enrichment Blendtm is paper-based laboratory animal bedding that raises the standard for the industry. This new revolutionary bedding option is processed from unprinted newspaper and is formulated to provide a superior environment for all small animals. It is virtually dust-free, highly absorbent, fast-drying, and formulated to control ammonia. Easily composted or disposed, SoftZorb is safe, clean, biodegradable and thermally treated to effectively reduce microbiological contamination. Available in two textures that include soft pellets or curly flakes, both options provide a dry, dust-free, comfortable nest with significant advantages over other alternative bedding materials.

Northeastern’s Certified Contact Bedding is processed from virgin wood fiber and scientifically certified to ensure top lab results. Samples are collected at five separate times during the run and combined for a composite sample, which is sent to an accredited laboratory for analysis. A copy of the laboratory report corresponding to the custom production lot accompanies all shipments of certified bedding.

Irradiated Bedding is sterilized contact bedding that is processed from virgin hardwood. It is available in Beta Chip, Aspen Chip and Aspen Shavings’ varieties. The Irradiation dosage is 15 kGy minimum internal dose. All product receives a lot number and is sent for sterilization. Irradiation sterilization indicators, which have been placed on all packages, will turn from yellow/orange to red. A certificate of Irradiation is available for all lots and our double-walled packaging preserves sterility of inner contents.
